TESTIMONIALS:
NJ
"I've made several purchases from this merchant.
Items are always wrapped and packed with care. None of the pottery I've
purchased has ever arrived broken or cracked. The variety of patterns and
pieces is one of the best I've seen online. The website is easy to
navigate as is the check out process. I'm certain I'll be returning again
and again to make purchases of my favorite patterns." Patricia J., CA

  ZAKLADY CERAMICZNE BOLESLAWIEC
|
Zaklady Ceramiczne
Boleslawiec is one of the oldest and largest stoneware factories in
Boleslawiec, Poland. It is located in the south-west of Poland, near the German
and Czech borders - 200 km from Berlin, 250 km from Prague and 450 km from
Warsaw.
Boleslawiec was known as Bunzlau until 1945 when the whole of German Silesia
came within the redrawn borders of Poland.
Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec is famous for its stoneware
tableware, hand-formed and hand-decorated using the unique punch technique.
It is one of the oldest and biggest companies in the Boleslawiec region.
Many of their products, those from their Signature Collection, are crafted
by a master artisan and are hand-signed. These artists earn the privilege of
creating their own work from start to finish. Since the process of making
and painting the pottery is unique, no two pieces are exactly alike.
are renowned for their beautiful
hand-finish, original style and high practicality. Stoneware products have a
unique design, drawing from a several-hundred-year tradition of Polish,
Czech and German pottery making, a distinct stylistic canon, known in German
as Bunzlauer Geschirr. Significantly, older Boleslawiec stoneware pottery
patterns have endured in many households. As an integral part of the
Silesian culture, the stoneware dishes have a great sentimental value to
Poles and Germans equally.
Although the inspiration came from past accomplishments, the
contemporary Boleslawiec polish
pottery have been creatively refined by
designers and adjusted to the requirements of the modern cuisine, taking
into account vessels typical of different regions of Europe.
No manufacturer using an automated production process can provide such a
variety of products. line is constantly enriched with
new, handsome forms.
The Boleslawiec pottery stoneware has for years been in
great demand. Products range from
dinnerware
sets,
serving pieces,
bakeware,
bowls,
soup tureens,
tea and coffee services to accessories such as
vases,
pitchers and
utensil
holders, to name a few. What makes it distinctive is the beautiful
hand-stamped designs.
A remarkable success in the history of Boleslawiec pottery
stoneware was a gold medal at an exposition in London in 1848, at the time,
the biggest trade fair in the world.
At present, this company has been awarded the highest prizes
in the industrial design in Poland, such as the following:
